  • Church Property Development
    The Town of Markham is proposing to build 31 new single homes and 10 townhouses in the field beside the Centennial Community Church.
  • Meeting with Joe Virgilo
    On January 25, 2006 the SUCA executive met with Councillor Joe Virgilio, who represents Ward 3. Joe was very accommodating with his time and had a number of suggestions for us.
  • Adopt-a-Mailbox
    SUCA launched its ADOPT-A-MAILBOX campaign at the Annual General Meeting on October 13, 2005. This program is meant to combat the unwanted advertising and litter (garbage and junk mail) that gathers around the Super Mailboxes in the community.

  • MPAC
    In November 2005 the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) sent property assessments to homes in our area. According to MPAC the average increase of property values in Markham was 8.56%.

  • Speeding and Aggressive Driving
    Cars routinely speed through the main streets in our community – South Unionville Avenue, Castan Road and Caboto Trail.
  • Road Watch
    Many York Region and Greater Toronto Area municipalities have implemented a new initiative called Road Watch . This program was initiated in Markham in early 2005.
